For the proper functioning of an airtight wood-burning fireplace, especially in highly energy-efficient homes (passive or low-consumption houses), it is essential to take the combustion air directly from the outside.

The Bodart & Gonay Concept range features an air inlet at the bottom of the unit (Ø125 mm) for this purpose. However, in some installations, the space under the insert is limited or does not allow for connection via the base.

Technical solution: The Horizontal Kit for external air intake is the accessory specifically designed to resolve this situation. It allows the air duct (Ø125 mm) to be connected from the rear of the unit, offering an equally efficient and airtight installation alternative.

• Installation flexibility: Ideal when the insert rests directly on a solid base or the gap under the hearth is insufficient.
• Guaranteed airtightness: Ensures a sealed connection between the external flue and the combustion chamber, preventing the entry of unwanted moisture or drafts when the fireplace is turned off.
