The Franek 12 water-jacketed fireplace insert is a unique hybrid that combines the functions of a typical overhead fireplace with the capabilities of a water-jacketed insert. The water jacket and coil are permanently installed in the combustion chamber, creating a consistent heating system.

As a result, some of the thermal energy contained in the combustion gas leaving the insert fireplace's combustion chamber is captured by the base. The water in the base is heated and then transferred to the central heating system. Thanks to this type of system, with the same amount of fuel, we gain two different ways to heat our home.

The water base with coil is adapted for cooperation with the installation of the radiator and the underfloor heating system powered by central heating appliances for solid fuels, gas, oil, electricity, as well as with heat pumps and solar batteries.

The base is made of steel designed for high-temperature operation. This material is suitable for use in central heating systems and ensures high reliability, thermal resistance, and long service life. Its central component is the inner chamber, which houses a system of horizontal tubes, known as the "flames," that increase the surface area of contact between the water and the heating medium, i.e., the exhaust gases. This allows the base to absorb the maximum amount of heat from the flue gases and transfer it to the water. Thermal protection of the device is provided by the coil, guaranteeing the reliable operation of the entire chimney.

The water tank must be connected to the central heating system during operation. This means it must be filled with water. Otherwise, it could be damaged.

The device can operate in both open and closed systems, with a working pressure of 2 bar.

Maximum energy use

The insert is equipped with densely distributed externally mounted radiators. This design significantly increases the heat transfer area with the environment and, at the same time, increases the mass of the chimney.

The device has a triple ventilation system combustion chamber, therefore the burning process in the wood insert is environmentally friendly and most importantly economical.

The primary air supply to the insert is provided from the outside through the integrated air inlet (in the 125 mm size). The air inlet is located on the underside of the insert.

Secondary air is supplied through holes in the back wall of the furnace, creating an afterburner system. This system handles the combustion of gases and reduces emissions of harmful substances. It improves chimney efficiency, which directly contributes to very low CO emissions.

The device is equipped with a clean glass system – thanks to the so-called air curtain airflow, which is evenly distributed, the glass is swept clean and particle settling is reduced to a minimum. This allows you to maintain a clean and effective appearance of the glass for a long time.

The combustion chamber ventilation control regulation is independent for the three systems so that the user has better control over the combustion process.

High level of security

The cast iron front of the insert is fitted with heat-resistant decorative ceramic glazing that can withstand temperatures up to 660°C and is certified for quality and safety. This type of finish also gives the fireplace a modern and elegant look, visually widening the front of the appliance.

Densely spaced radiators and oven walls make for high-quality 8mm thick cast iron safety guarantee for operation and maximum heat utilization.

The device is also equipped with a glass cleaning system – thanks to an air curtain. The airflow is distributed evenly, sweeping across the glass and minimizing soot buildup. This allows you to keep your windows looking attractive and clean for a long time.

The fireplace is easy to keep clean thanks to the grate and a mounted drawer in which the ash collects.

What's more, it has a removable fence, which protects the wood from falling out of the oven and makes it easier to clean the chimney.

eco-combustion

Thanks to its construction and the triple ventilation system of the combustion chamber, the appliance meets ecodesign requirements and the BImSchV 2 standard, which sets the maximum CO emissions. Furthermore, the sealed combustion chamber makes it ideal for homes with heat recovery systems.
