FM IZ-100 FKC Panoramic Wood Burning Insert

An open masonry fireplace wastes most of the heat up the flue and consumes a lot of firewood. The FM Calefacción IZ-100 FKC insert solves this problem without sacrificing the fireplace: it fits into the existing opening and transforms it into a closed 17.9 kW unit capable of heating 390 m³ with an 81% efficiency . And with a panoramic opening that gives the fire more presence than ever before.

900 m³/h centrifugal turbine

The unit includes a kit with a 900 m³/h 112 W centrifugal turbine , a much higher airflow than a conventional tangential fan. This increased force allows it to move warm air over a distance and efficiently distribute it to other rooms, not just across the front of the unit. The three-position switch adjusts the airflow, and in position 0, operation is automatic : the turbine starts automatically when it reaches the desired temperature and stops when it cools down.

Two adjustable ductable outlets

The two 80mm ducted pipes with independent airflow control allow you to distribute heat to other rooms and decide how much goes to each. With the power of the centrifugal turbine at the back, the unit no longer just heats the living room but acts as a small distributed heating system.

Compact recess for existing openings

With built-in dimensions of 93.4 x 52.4 x 56.3 cm , this model is designed to fit into the opening of a standard fireplace without requiring any additional work. Its compact height and weight of 185 kg make it significantly easier to handle than versions with a hood, while maintaining the same power and performance.

Panoramic opening of 93 cm

The door is 930 mm wide and accommodates logs up to 88 cm long , an exceptional size. This means two things: you can buy firewood in any commercially available format without cutting it, and the flame spreads across the entire width of the opening. The visual result is that of an open fireplace, but with the performance of a closed system.

Casting throughout the chamber and 5 mm sheet metal

Unlike vermiculite-lined models, this one features a cast iron combustion chamber , door, and grate. Cast iron is the material with the highest thermal inertia: it accumulates heat during combustion and continues to release it even as the fire dies down. The body is constructed from sheet metal up to 5 mm thick , a greater thickness than is typical for this range.

Double and triple combustion: 81% efficiency

Double and triple combustion systems reburn gases that would otherwise escape unused in an open fireplace. The result is an 81% efficiency with a fuel consumption of 3.98 kg/h and CO emissions of only 0.10% , well below the Ecodesign regulations.

Adjustable deflector and draft diverter valve

The adjustable internal baffle allows you to adjust the flow of smoke within the chamber, and the draft diverter valve controls the flue's draft. Along with the primary air regulator , these three levers allow you to adapt the unit to the actual draft of your chimney, which is what determines whether an installation functions correctly or not.

Clean glass and a durable finish

The screen-printed ceramic glass withstands temperatures up to 750°C and incorporates a clean-glass system : an air curtain sweeps across the interior surface of the glass, delaying soot buildup, which is especially important on such a large glazed area. The exterior is coated with inorganic heat-resistant paint that withstands temperatures up to 800°C .
